HP Pavilion 15-au620tx Review + Laptop Buying Guide

Hey what’s up guys welcome to Sid Tech and you’re watching my review of the HP 15-au620tx laptop, lets get started. Before starting the review here are some good tips for buying laptop.

  • Back to school offers have started in India you can get up to five thousand off on student discount offers so do ask for that next time you buy a laptop (Mid June-August)
  • Do go to stores like Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay sales as sometimes they have exclusive laptops that you won’t find online or anywhere else especially Croma.
  • Lastly do check what finally you are getting as generally you can get a few accessories like mouselaptop bag card reader etc with a purchase at the same price

Now let’s talk about this laptop it is powered by an 2.5 GHz 7th Gen Intel i5 processor coupled with 8GB of DDR 4 RAM which is expandable up to 16 GB and a 1 terabyte hard drive running on Windows 10. It has the Nvidia 940 MX 2 GB graphic card.

The laptop is very well built and weighs around 2 kg which might not be the most portable laptop but the in hand feel is really good. One of the things which I really like is the new hinge at the laptop which on previous laptops was made up of plastic and was not durable. Talking about IO it got all the ports or you it has 2 USB 3 ports one USB 2 port SD card reader DVD Drive headphone jack and a HDMI Ethernet and a kingston lock slot.

It comes with a standard 65 watt charge which I can use to charge my other laptop too. It has two cell lithium ion battery but with normal usage like web browsing can last up to eight hours while doing heavytasks like video editing coding or gaming it would last anywhere between three to four hours depending upon the software or the games you are playing.

It has a 15.6 inch 1366 x 768 HD LED display yes it is not a full HD panel it is slightly better than 720P but not as good as 1080p so if you were looking for an awesome display this one is not for you also if you do some high-end graphic designing or color grading work and accurate colors are really really important just skip this one or any other under 60,000 HP laptop as they come with this same low resolution display which might affect you work.

Keyboard and track pad are just awesome there is ample key travel and the overall  typing experience is good and the trackpad is amazing I have always loved the HP trackpad it is very much smooth and making gestures and doing all of the work is just a pleasure.

Gaming performance is okay meaning you can play all high-end games easily on medium graphic settings while few will lag in high graphics settings if you want hardcore gaming then go with a higher spec model. Now let’s talk about the overall performance this thing runs on Windows 10 and the latest creator update it has become even faster if you are a Windows 10 user and still don’t have a creators update install it now.

Doing day to day work like web browsing and watch movies is very smooth and even doing graphic work is good talking about video editing software’s like Audacity, Filmora ,Sony Vegas are all running very well but when you move to something like premiere or after effects it might lags sometimes increasing RAM to 16GB might help which cost you around 3500 Indian rupees via HP official store.

But premier would work better with higher GPU of better GPU so if you are doing video editing for YouTube or not editing high-end 4k footage or something, This is really good but if you want to edit 4k footage or high-end video editing then you might go for a better model and if you are student and need it for college this one is more than what you need.
