Xiaomi has launched it’s new fitness band called the Mi Band HRX edition in partnership with HRX brand owned by Bollywood Star Hrithik Roshan, In this post let’s unbox it and set it up. Hey whats-up guys welcome to Sid Tech and without much further ado let’s get started.
The band is available at a introductory price of ₹1,299, though it’s actual price is ₹1,799, Let’s now cut the seal and opening up the box we have the this strap in black color, then we have the actual fitness tracker which is same as the Mi band 2 but without a heart rate sensor. Then we have the charging cradle that you can plug in any USB port for charging and the usual paper work.
Coming to the band itself as said earlier it is same as the Mi band 2 but without a hear rate sensor. There is 0.4 inch OLED display which shows you the time, step count, distance, calorie burn etc and a touch type capacitive button for navigation. Xiaomi claims a battery life of 23 days but looking at the past records and no heart rate sensor, I say it can last even longer.
The band is also IP67 water resistant meaning it can easily survive few splashes and will work in rain too. Now coming to the setup you have to first download the Mi Fit app on your smartphone via the Play store or the App store. Then sign it to your Mi account and it will show your previous data if you have used a Mi fitness product in the past. Go to your profile and tap on add device .
Tap on band option and make sure your Bluetooth is turned on. Then it will search for your Mi band and within few seconds it should discover your band. It will ask you to tap the capacitive key on the band, do that and it will start pairing and within few seconds your band is ready. The display on the band will show data for only past 24 hours, you can use the app to see the past data.
These are my stats with the Original Mi band, so you can track your steps, total distance, calories burned and activity time. You can also set activity goals to stay fit. You can set Idle alert which will vibrate the band to tell you to take a walk. As this is a smart fitness band you can enable your call and app notifications on the band.
You can set alert for incoming phone call, you can set alarm which will vibrate the band and act like a silent alarm, message and email notification alert through your default app and other apps like Facebook, Instagram twitter etc. If there is a need to update the band it can be done only through this app via the firmware update.
So this is it guys from the unboxing and setup and as it is just like the Mi band 2 the tracking should be accurate, the only difference would be in the battery life.
