HP is one of the only third party smartphone maker Which uses Windows Mobile operating system for it’s Elite smartphone lineup and now the company has announced that it will not be making any new Windows powered smartphone.
HP told The Register that they won’t be adding any new handset to the existing Elite Windows Mobile smartphone lineup and their current best Elite X3 will reach the end of support in 2019. We were always surprised as to why HP is investing it’s resources in a Windows smartphone.
Nick Lazaridis from HP also further added “it doesn’t make sense” in continuing to build Windows Phone handsets when Microsoft itself doesn’t seem as interested in its own mobile operating system. Microsoft has changed its strategy and is now less focused on Windows 10 Mobile”
We have tested out the Windows Mobile 10 operating system since it’s first insider preview and we were disappointed by the progress made by Microsoft, So we can say that HP did the right thing as Microsoft is concentrating more on it’s Desktop/Laptop consumers.
