OnePlus 5T Official, Oppo R11s, R11s Plus, OxygenOS 4.5.14 Update, Asus Pegasus 4S, #37 Tech Updates


Hey Whats-up guys welcome to the 37th episode of the tech updates, let’s get started. From past few weeks there were many rumors and leaks that OnePlus will be launching its next smartphone called the OnePlus 5T and now OnePlus has officially confirmed the arrival of its next flagship killer and also confirmed the presence of a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, in a blog post confirmed the name and told why headphone jack is an essential part of the smartphone and also stated that wireless headphones are also a great option but the headphone jack is not going anywhere. Also Oppo, Oneplus parent company has launched it’s latest smartphone Oppo R11s which is the successor to the Oppo R11 which was similar to the OnePlus 5. So if we look at the history OnePlus 5T will look similar to the Oppo R11s with software and branding changes.

Oppo R11s is priced at CNY 2,999 around ₹30,000 and will be available in Black and Champagne Gold color variants along with a Red color special edition priced at CNY 3,199 around ₹31,500. It will be available in China from 10th November. Oppo R11s Plus is priced at CNY 3,699 around ₹36,000 and will be available in Black and Champagne Gold color variants. It will go on sale in China from 24th November. We don’t know about outside China availability.

Oppo R11s sports a 6.0.1 inch full HD + AMOLED 18:9 aspect ratio display and houses a 3205 mAh battery. Oppo R11s Plus sports a 6.43 inch full HD+  AMOLED 18:9 aspect ratio display and houses a 4,000 mAh battery. Both the smartphones run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with  ColorOS 3.2 UI on top. Both the smartphones are powered by a 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM on the R11s and 6GB RAM on R11s Plus. Both the phones come with 64GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD up to 256GB.

Honor has launched another smartphone in India called the Honor Holly 4 Plus, the smartphone is priced at ₹13,999 and will be available starting today via Honor offline stores in Grey, Gold, and Silver color variants. The smartphone houses a massive 4,000 mAh battery and comes with a rear placed fingerprint scanner. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The Honor Holly 4 Plus is powered by the Snapdragon 435 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage expandable via MicroSD. It sports a 5 inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection on top. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box with EMUI 5.1 on top.

OnePlus has started rolling out the latest OxygenOS 4.5.14 update for its current flagship killer OnePlus 5.  The update has been started rolling out and as every other, over the air update, it will reach all users soon as it will be released incrementally. The new update comes with many changes and fixes, most important being the patch for fixing the Wi-Fi WPA2 security issue. The update also enables OnePlus 5 to support recently launched Airtel VoLTE service in India and optimized GPS accuracy.

For Canadian users, the new update now supports band 66 of Freedom network in Canada. The update will also include general bug fixes. Have you received the update? This smartphone marks the Asus entry into 18:9 aspect ration smartphones. Though we don’t know anything about its pricing or availability yet we expect it to be up for sale in China soon.

The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek MT6750T processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. It sports a 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display with 2.5D curved glass protection on top.Pegasus 4S runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and houses a massive 4,030 mAh battery. It sports a dual camera setup at the back with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.  The dual sim smartphone comes in an all-metal design and VoLTE support.
