Microsoft has announced a customized version of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The Microsoft Edition of both the smartphones is now available for pre-orders via Microsoft’s Online and Offline stores in the U.S. We don’t think this limited edition smartphone will launch out of the U.S.
The smartphones costs same as the standard edition that is $719.99 for the Galaxy S9 and $839.99 for the Galaxy S9 Plus. The smartphone will come with Microsoft launcher pre-installed and will have a bunch of Microsoft Apps including Skype, Cortana, Microsoft Office, and OneNote.
SAMSUNG GALAXY S9, GALAXY S9 + SPECIFICATIONS
Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch 1440p SAMOLED Infinity display and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a 6.2-inch SAMOLED Infinity display and will have 6GB of RAM 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage. Both the smartphones are powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor in the US and Exynos 9810 in rest of the world.
The biggest upgrade comes in terms of the camera, Galaxy S9 comes with “Super Speed” dual pixel camera. Both the smartphones come with varying apertures called dual apertures. The two apertures stops are f/1.5 and f/2.4. Both the cameras will come with OIS and a combination of laser and Dual Pixel autofocus sensor. The smartphones come with slow-motion video recording at 960fps.
The Galaxy S9 comes with a 12-megapixel Super speed dual pixel camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus comes with a dual camera setup with dual 12-megapixel sensors. One is the same wide angle lens found on the Galaxy S9 and the other is a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery and S9 Plus with 3,500 mAh battery. Both the smartphones run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and are IP 68 water and dust resistant. Samsung is also using both the facial recognition and iris scanners to unlock your smartphones more securely.
Samsung has also launched Apple’s Animojis competitor called AR Emoji. You can use your face in the emoji by using augmented reality. Samsung has also mode the fingerprint sensor location which is now below the camera module for easier reachability. Samsung has also updated Bixby with better search.
