Xiaomi is all set to launch its first flagship smartphone for the year 2018 called the Mi Mix 2S. The smartphone will launch on 27th March 2018 in China. The smartphone has leaked a lot in the past but now according to the latest leaks we have the design of the smartphone with a very different notch.
Recently, Google has released Android P developer preview which natively supports notch. But Android P comes with support for smartphones having notches in the middle. It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi will use the UI with this tiny notch as practically we don’t use the area for anything other than time.
According to a report by XDA Developers, they have gotten hold of the firmware files of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S smartphone. These firmware files reveal that the smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor. Both Qualcomm and Xiaomi announced their partnership for the processor back in December 2017.
Xiaomi has also confirmed that its flagship Mi Mix 2S will be powered by the new Snapdragon 845 processor. Now it looks like Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be the first smartphone to run on the latest processor. The files further revealed the MIX 2S will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and might also be compatible with the Google’s project treble.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will sport a Full HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display and will house a 3,400 mAh battery. It will also come with some AI camera features which will enable facial recognition. Recently Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India which will also receive facial recognition feature as an update in the future.
The smartphone will come with a Sony IMX363 sensor and will have features like object tracking, automatic HDR, chroma flash etc. MIX 2S will come with dual-SIM support and will have an IR blaster and a LED notification light.
